Netball Teams (Antwerp in Red; Amsterdam in Yellow)

On Saturday, 25th June 2016, members of the Church of Christ in Antwerp, Belgium visited their brothers and sisters in the Church of Christ in Amsterdam, Netherlands for a fellowship. The day was marked with a host of activities that fostered healthy competition between the brothers and sisters in both congregations. Some of these activities included outdoor games such as; soccer, lime and spoon race, cards, draughts, table tennis, ludo and Ampe (a Ghanaian game). Other indoor activities such as bible verse recitals by the children, Ghanaian traditional dances, ‘musical chairs’ and the ‘sword drill’, spiced up the occasion in a very relaxed but edifying atmosphere. The benevolence of the host congregation in Amsterdam was on full display as all participants were treated to sumptuous contemporary and Ghanaian meals.

The one-day event was organized to foster fellowship between the congregations and to set the example for future co-organized activities to follow which would involve many other congregations of the Church of Christ within the Belgium-Netherlands-Luxembourg region in Europe. The visiting Antwerp congregation carried the day after they won in majority of all the fun games and competitions held. Everything ended successfully to the glory of God and in honour of the example set by the Church of Christ in the time of the Apostles.

“They were continually devoting themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer”  (Acts 2 : 42)
